Chasing Eagles on the Skagit River

The right way to kick off a new year is to brave the snowy cold and capture eagles in their natural environment. Instead of football, the eagles engage in a type of Salmon Bowl that looks more like a rugby scrum than an organized game. While there is plenty of fish to go around, the eagles prefer to take a fish from one another. And if you look closely, you will see crows and gulls trying to sneak in and capture their share of the salmon. It is quite a spectacle.
